Abstract

Transport of radioactive material assumes great importance in a developing country like India that has major nuclear installations around Goa. Nuclear material needs to be transported for medical uses to the Goa Medical College and other nuclear medicine laboratories in Goa. Safe transportation of radioactive material becomes imperative in view of the extensive damage that it may cause to the people in case of an accident. A field study was under taken to ascertain the effectiveness of radioactive substances being transported. The study showed that the packaging of the materials from B.R.I.T., Murnbai was satisfactory.
