T. Chatterjee and S. Chandra

Abstract

In the present study the effect of different VAM fungi (G. claroideum, G. aggregatum. G. multicazde, G. fasciculatum) on the population of other soil fungi associated with Ageratum conyzoides was studied. The roots of plant were screened for the mycoflora in the rhizoplane and within roots. The rhizoplane harboured 10 fungi. The fungi like Mucor, Fttsarium, Phoma, Macrophomina showed an increase in their population. while majority of fungal forms showed a suppression in their population. Forms like Aspergillus, Cztnningharnella, Myrothecium and Rhizopus were completely eliminated.
