Abstract
The population survey and observation on the social behaviour of a semi-captive population of the Blackbuck Antilope cervicapra Linn., was carried out during the months of January to April 1995, at MahaYeer Harina Vanasthali (MHV), Hyderabad. An estimated 229 Blackbucks were seen in the 80 ha expanse of the phase I of MHV, accounting for 2.75 animals per hectare.
