Abstract

Psilotum nudum is a rare and endangered plant species distributed discontinuously in few pockets and is endemic to the Seshachalam Hills of Sri Venkateswara Wildlife Sanctuary, Andhra Pradesh. The plant is a living example of a primitive, once much larger group. The present article deals with their distribution, structure and endemism in addition to the geological background of the area with specific reference to their association with the presence of other endemic plants of the area.
