Abstract
The paper presents the ecology of the Polyalgal bloom which consisted of Pithophora mat along with Oscillatoria, Chlorococcum, Eugieno and Phocus.Alkaline waters, moderate temperature, NO3- and PO43- favoured the rapid spread of Pithophora mat, along with Chlorococcum and Oscillatoria. Alkaline waters, bicarbonates and nitrates favoured the multiplication of Euglena and Phocus.When the Pithophoro mat and other algae (Polyalgal bloom) disappeared increase in organic matter, total hardness and C I - were observed.
