PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL STUDY OF SANTRAMPUR REGION IN PANCHMEHAL DISTRICT OF GUJARAT, INDIA

Abstract

In the present study, forest area of the Santrampur taluka was analysed for various Phytosociological attributes. The forest is dry deciduous in nature with dominant plant Species of Tectona, Diospirus, Butea, Ho/orhina,Annogeissus, Prosopis having frequency (F % > 25).Total five localities namely Vagiyakhunt, Sant, Lalakpur, Dahyapur and Umber Were studied for %Frequency,Abundance-Frequency ratio, Density, Coefficient ofVariation (CV), Importance Value of Index (WI), Distribution pattern and Raunkiear's Biological spectrum.The highest IVI was observed for Madhuka (18.0), Holorhina ( I 1.29) and Tectona (11.29) and plant species liek M. azodirechta,A. excels°, B monospenna, D. sisoo, D. melanoxylon, P. juliflora, G. tomentosa, and M. indica were found in normal dispersal.
