Abstract

The paper deals with fly ash pollution. Singrauli Region (MP + UP) has six super thermal power stations generating 7500 MW electricity and producing 7-8 MT/Year of fly ash. The region is adversely affected by fly ash, which contains heavy metals in different range of concentration. Most of the metals are toxic. The present study deals with investigation of heavy metal contents. in fly ash leachets and also reports the metal uptake by three dominant plant species like Ipotnea carnea,Typha angustata and Calotropis procera.
