ROLE OF TEMPERATURE AND PH ON THE TOXICITY OF COPPER SULPHATE TO IIVIPARLIS BENGALENSIS

S. K. SARKAR

Abstract

Acute toxicity (96 h LC, of copper sulphate was dcrtermined in the laboratory using the snail Ilivipctrus bengulensis at pH 6.0, 7.5 and 8.5 during summer (35.8"C), monsoon (28,3°C) and winter (22.0°C) seasons. Copper sufhate was most toxic in monsson and least in winter seasons. The snail was most toxic at pH 7.5 and least at pH 6.0.
