Abstract
Catla catla a freshwater teleost fish, were exposed to 24 h median lethal concentration of methornyl, a carbainate pesticide and alterations in the activity of phosphatases in plamsa were studied. The acid and alkaline phosphatases were found to be inhibited in plasma. The findings are discussed in relation to non-specific biomarkers of environmental pollutants.
