Abstract
This study reports on the effect of occupational exposure of randomly selected traffic personnel from different sites within Calcutta Metropolitan Authority with special reference to their blood Pb and COHb concentrations. Both these levels were substantially higher in those with greater exposure at the congested road intersections and the elevations were statistically found highly significant. Majority showed a direct relationship between blood lead and service duration at the traffic sites. The results appear consistent with lile increased health problems in the highly exposed group.
