Abstract
The yeast Starmerella bombicola was used to produce Sophorolipid which is a biosurfactant through aerobic fermentation. Isolation of Sophorolipid was carried out by solvent extraction method. Characterization was done by determining surface tension and Critical micelle concentration. Results were found to be satisfactory. Body washes were formulated using different concentrations of Sophorolipid. Formulation containing Cocoamidopropylbetaine and Sophorolipids in the ratio of 3:2 was found to be most satisfactory.
