Abstract
Hydrological parameters like temperature, nitrite, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), salinity, hardness, alkalinity and micronutrients (phosphate and nitrite) were measured for a period six months from November 1998 - April 1999 at five different stations along Parvathyputhen Ar . The data on DO II'vealed that the ecosystem is a reducing environment. The results on Micronutrients suggests that th l'arvathyputhen Ar is polluted with high load of nitrite and phosphate. In general, the arvathyputhen Ar is highly polluted with nutrients.
