Abstract
This paper presents an investigation on the utilization of industrial waste materials like Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag and Fly ash for producing sustainable concrete . The main aspects to be studied for finding the suitability of using those materials is the mechanical property called compressive strength of the concrete. Cement, the main ingredient in concrete is replaced with 5%,7.5% and 10% of GGBS and 10% Fly Ash.The strength of the above mixes are then compared with normal concrete. The strength study of the concrete revealed that the materials can be effectively used for producing the green concrete and about 20 % of the cement can be replaced by the industrial wastes and also it provides a concrete with lower CO2 emission.
