Abstract
Alkaline chlorination of cyanide bearing wastewater is normally practiced to contain pollution. A two stage biological system comprising of activated sludge process followed by an oxidation pond on pilot scale has been investigated for the treatment of cyanide wastewater. The results of the performance of the system and some of the kinetic constants under pilot scale are presented in this paper.
