Abstract
Teatment of cyanide waste with biological methods is recognised to be cheaper and faster than other conventional methods. Cyanide one of the toxic industrial wastes was studied for microbial degradation in this investigation. Simulated synthetic cyanide wastes as well as industrial wastes were used for these studies. One of the isolates, identified as Bacillus cereus var mycoides showed almost a 100% cyanide degradationof 1500 ppm cyanide concentration with in 10 days.
