Abstract
Biokinematic experiments were conducted on two pathogenic fungi viz. Albugo candida and Altemaria brassicae spores for detection of mechanism of dispersal of pathogen and consequently spread of disease. The Vg values for Albugo candida ranged from 0.57-2.33 while that of Altemaria brass/ca (180 m x 20 m) varies from 9.85-12.64. The value of terminal velocity (Vs) of Albugo candida was determined as 0.91 cm/s with Cunningham correction factor while that of Altemaria brassicae spores as 12.42 cm/s with Ossen's correction factor. The value of Vg/Vs approximately at 2.5 m and 4m was observed as 0.62 and 2.56 for Albugo candida and 0.79 and 1.02 for Altemaria brassicae respectively. The size, nature and characteristics of the spores have affected the deposition velocity.
