Abstract
Data on the effect of sugar factory raw effluent and microbial treated effluent on paddy seed germination and seedling growth have been presented. The physico-chemical properties of raw and yeast (Microbial) treated effluent were analysed. The yeast treated effluent shows a reduction of BOD, COD values and heavy metal value in comparison to raw effluent. The raw effluent reduced rate of germination of seeds. Yeast treated effluent however, showed favourable effect of effluent on seedling growth have been investigated.
