Abstract

Box-Behnken design is a computerized model that has been applied to biological experiments in predicting the possible results and to check the experimental results based on its regression co-efficient values. Box-Behnken design with three variables like days (1, 4 and 7), pH (3, 6 and 9) and starch (0.05, 0.2 and 0.35%) were studied to identify a significant correlation between the effect of these variables and the degree of hydrolysis of starch. The methodology identifies the principal experimental variables, which have the greatest effect in the hydrolysis of starch. The experimental values are in good agreement with the predicted values, the correlation co-efficient being 0.9798.
