Abstract
The removal of Cr(vi) from aqueous solutions was investigated by using a cheap low cost agrobased waste material (sugar cane leaves) as adsorbent. The effect of pH, Cr(vi) concentration, adsorbent dose, contact time and temperature was studied in batch experimcnts. The removal was in general most effective, more than 95% at 2-3 pH values, and at 30°C 'Temperature.
