Abstract
Preliminary studies on the anti-pathogenic bacterial properties of skin secretion (mucus) of Narcine timlei (Bloch and Schneider) was undertaken. The fresh mucus extract was tested by the disc method against common pathogenic bacterial species namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faeculis, Vibrio cholerae, Shigella flexneri, and Salmonella typhinuirium. The results obtained and the detailed discussion supported by data on the anti-bacterial activity zone, have been presented.
