Abstract
Thelohanellus catlae have been found parasitising the Catla catla (Ham.) was recorded for the first time from Maharashtra. The cysts were whitish to creamish in colour, infecting on the surfaces of the gill filaments and were oval to round in shape, bigger cysts were often irregular in outline. The cysts measure 1 to 2.5 mm in diameter. This paper gives the detailed structure, measurements and pathogenicity. Descriptions of cysts, spores and information regarding the type materials are also given.
