Abstract
Researches in the field of pathogenesis of many diseases focused light on a common pathway of tissue damage in most cases namely free raaical induced oxidative tissue damage. Antioxidants are coming up in a big way to battle oxidative stress. In order to identify the natural sources rich in antioxidants many plants are the source for research. Experiment was formulated with an objective of assessing the antioxidants in leaves of Murraya koenigii Linn. The enzymatic antioxidant status of (peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase) and non enzymatic antioxidants (Ascorbic acid, reducing sugar, phenol, and proteins) were estimated from mature and tender leaves. The outcome of the study revealed that tender leaves are rich in enzymatic antioxidants as compared to mature leaves.
