Abstract
Automobiles are mobile source of pollution resulting in the accumulation of air pollutants. Five traffic intersections were taken for studying ambient air quality for one year. Seasonally. The main parameters studied were; Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM), Oxides of Nitrogen (N0x) Sulphur Dioxide (SO2). In addition traffic density of two wheelers, light motor vehicles and heavy motor vehicles for 2 hours were noted during the peak hour of the day. Correlation matrix and cluster analysis were used for statistical analysis. It was found that two wheelers and light motor vehicles caused considerable pollution during winter and summer season than heavy motor vehicles.
