Abstract
Antimicrobial activity of the bark (methanol, ethanol and water extract) of Acacia leuophloea belonging to the family NlimosAceae was studied. The extract was extracted by soxhlet.apparatus. The effect of the extract against 18 bacterial and one fungal stains was tested by filter paper disc diffusion technique, having Chlorimophenicol a broad sprectrum antibiotic as control for for bacterial strains and Flukanazole antibiotic for fungal strain. Out of three extracts, the ethanol extract was found to be more effective with both bacterial and methanol with fungal activity.
