Abstract
Epitopes are relational entities that requires complementary paratopes for their operational recognition. Epitope prediction is of great importance in informatics research in therapeutic applications. On the basis of predicted epitopes vaccines can be designed with better specificity. The approaches used in this research are ABCpred, BCEpred and BEPIpred for epitope prediction in swine strain of hepatitis E virus which is the causative agent of hepatitis E, is a non-enveloped RNA virus. Thus comparative study of results of different servers using threshold values is carried out regarding number of epitopes and on which position are they present which can be further applied to immunodiagnostic application. Substantial effort in the structural and subsequent functional characterization of HEV can be done using this technique.
