Abstract
This paper presents the study on the physico - chemical and comparative parameters of river water, underground water and surface water of Rewa District, Madhya Pradesh state. Most of the samples are within prescribed limits as suggested by World Health Organisation(WHO) and Indian Standard (ISI) for drinking purpose. Yearly changes in physical and chemical parameters like colour, odour, temporary hardness, permanent hardness, Total hardness, pH, Total dissolved solids, Amount of bicarbonates of calcium, magnesium, sodium, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium sulphate, magnesium sulphate, nitrates, BOD, COD, DO, Turbidity dissolved in water were analyzed for a period of year 2012. Some parameters were found within prescribed limits.
