Abstract
A plentiful supply of water is indispensable both for drinking and cleaning. Water is said to be polluted when it is unfit for its intended use. A potable water supply, which is needed for the existence of a population, has to be in the right quantity and of right quality. The problem of the population has stretched with industrialization and urbanization. Standing pools and wells are not infrequently impure. In the present study a ground water quality survey has been carried out in different mandals (administrative units) of prakasam district, A.P., India.
