Abstract
Fresh garlic extract of ethanol was found to be effective against gut flora of diseased Mulberry silkworms. The microbes were isolated from diseased silkworms, were characterized by basic biochemical tests. The different components of garlic extract observed during TLC were also tested for antimicrobial activity. Apart from standard antibiotics the natural extracts were effective. Because of resistance of microbes against antibiotics these natural remedies are of great significance.
