Abstract

The study deals with the groundwater quality assessment of Sanganer Textile Industrial Area, Jaipur, Rajasthan (India) by examining various physicochemical parameters- pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), calcium, chemical oxygen demand (C.O.D.), chloride, alkanity, which were analyzed (APHA 1989). The results showed most of the parameters were within the permissible limits compared to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) which enables us to confer that there is no drastic changes as for now, but its safety for drinking purpose is accompanied with slow rate of effluent discharge activity in the region.
