Abstract
An acanthocephalan parasite, Pallisentis nagapurensisinfecting the teleost, Channa striatushas been studied for 2 consecutive years(2005-2007) to analyse the incidence of parasitic infection, intensity of infection, index of infection, density of infection and their seasonal variation. The infection was more dominant during summer, moderate during winter and low during rainy season. The parasites were metabolically and physiologically dependent on the host.
