Abstract
The aim of the present study is to investigate the levels of metals (Zn, Ni, Cr, Pb and Cd) in water, sediment, muscle, gill, liver, kidney and intestine of freshwater fish Oreochromis mossambicus cought from the Kedilam River. The metal concentration in water, sediments and tissues are as follows Cr>Zn>Ni>Pb>Cd, Cr>Ni>Zn>Pb>Cd and liver>gill>intestine>muscle. The present finding concluded that liver is the target organ of metal accumulation where as muscle is lowest. Results showed that the concentration of metals exceed the permissible limit by various agencies.
