INVESTIGATION OF TVOCS IN THE COMMUNITIES NEAR MAB TA PHUT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, THAILNAND

BOONCHONG CHAWSITHIWONG

Abstract

Objectives of this research were two folds : 1) to investigate the TVOCs in the communities near Mab Ta Phut Industrial Estate and 2) to study the relationships of TVOCs and traffic volume, temperature, air velocity. The instrument used for the detection of TVOCs is Photovac certified by the US. EPA and calibrated by the laboratory of the Airport Authority of Thailand which certified by the ISO 17025 before being used in the fieldwork. Data analysis was accomplished with mean, cross correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The detection result of TVOCs in three communities throughout a week duringSeptember,1-7,2012 (morning, afternoon and night) found that the average ambient concentration of TVOCs in Nong Fab Community was the highest, followed by Mab Chalud and Nong Fa b Communities, (0.14,0.06 and 0.04 ppm), respectively. Hypothesis testing found that traffic volume and temperature correlated positively with concentration of TVOCs, but air velocity did negatively with that. Finally, the prediction model of TVOCs has been presented.
