Abstract
Betwa is one of the important rivers of Madhya Pradesh. This river is also facing the problem of pollution. In the present study an attempt is made to assess the water quality of Betwa River at various stations and at the same time to assess the impact of agricultural practices on water quality. The water quality analysis clearly indicates that nutrient loading takes place at the stations situated near by the agricultural fields. At these stations higher values of nitrates and phosphates were recorded.
