SEASONAL DYNAMICS OF ENDOHELMINTH PARASITE, DJOMBANGIA INDICAIN FRESH WATER TELEOST, CLARIAS BATRACHUS

Abstract

The present study deals with seasonal dynamics of cestode parasite infection in fresh water cat fish, Clarias batrachus from Warangal District, Andhra Pradesh, during two consecutive years from 2005-06 to 2006-07. The incidence, intensity, density, index of infection and seasonal variation of parasite has been recorded and they were also influenced by ecological factors. The present data revealed that parasitic infection varies from season to season. The infection was more during Feb to June and slightly less in the months of Jul to Jan.
