Abstract

An incubation experiment was conducted to study the effect of different amendments on micronutrient availability in a sodic soil of ESP 24.6 over a period of 12 weeks under saturated moisture condition by applying organic and inorganic amendments viz., gypsum, FYM, green manure and paddy straw. The soil samples analyzed at 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 12th week indicated that, the extent of reduction in ESP was ranged from 31.0-51.6 per cent in treated soils as compared to control (25.3-23.8 %). The application of T6 - 50% GR + green manure is increased Zn and Fe availability (0.37-0.85 & 1.51-2.64 ppm, respectively) as compared to initial values (0.28-0.34 & 1.22-1.28 ppm, respectively.
