Abstract
The present study describes the isolation and identification of bacterial strains capable of degrading endosulfan .Enrichment was achieved by providing endosulfan as the sole carbon source or sulfur source. Of the three bacterial strains in this study, BS1 and BS3 showed almost equal capabilities of utilizing endosulfan as a sole carbon source in the culture medium .
