Abstract

Habit and habitation of organisms are largely determined by the abiotic factors, which surrounds them. Additionally they play a significant role in the vital performance of organisms such as reproduction, feeding etc. Twenty random sampling points were set by GIS to study hydro biological parameters in southern Pulicat. Elevated temperature was noticed in Eastern side where the extension of sand bars. The range of dissolved oxygen recorded in sampling points from 5.6 to 5.9 mg/L. High content of nitrate and nitrite and phosphate were investigated near to extensive sea grass bed showed positive correlation. Turbidity were recorded high in the river mouth due to flushing of sediments from river and long shore currents in the sea mutually caused continuous suspension. The environmental parameters investigated in the study area found to have variation and showed impact to the ecobiological system.
