VARIETAL PERFORMANCE AGAINST LEUCINODES ORBONALIS GUEN

SHANTANU DAS AND J.I. PATEL

Abstract

The study on screening of twenty five brinjal varieties/genotypes for their susceptibility to L. orbonalis infesting shoots indicated that all varieties/genotypes except GJB-2 (16.26%) proved as “resistant” varieties or genotypes. In fruiting stage, only variety Hyb-38 proved as “susceptible” while other varieties/genotypes found “resistant” or “moderately resistant”. The highest (424.62 q/ha) fruit yield was harvested from the varieties/genotype Doli-5 followed by Kanhaiya (391.06 q/ha), Pusa F1 Gole (388.89 q/ha) with reporting “resistant”.
