Abstract
An experiment was carried out to study the effect of insecticides, monocrotophos and endosulfan, on the growth of soil fungi, viz. Penicillium, Fusarium and Pythium. Data were collected on fungal colony size and dry weight of fungal mycelia. It was found that the application of both the insecticides significantly reduced the growth of the three fungi. We found that endosulfan showed more inhibitory effect than monocrotophos.
