Abstract

An attempt has been made to study the effect of vermicompost (VC) and goat dung as stimulant on the growth and productivity of Abelmoschus esculentus (Bhendi). The seed germination, growth and yield parameters such as shoot length, root length, number of lateral roots, leaf area (cm2), length of vegetables, weight of vegetables, photosynthetic pigments, protein, aminoacids and carbohydrates were found to be maximum in the plants treated with vermicompost and goat dung. Among the different treatment, the plants treated with vermicompost and goat dung combination exhibited superior quality parameters.
