Abstract

The present experiment was carried out at Madhadi Baug Farm, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh during 2012-13 to study the “Effect of paclobutrazol on fruit quality parameters of acid lime (Citrus aurantifolia L.)”. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with factorial concept (F-RBD) with four levels of paclobutrazol viz., P0 (control), P1 (paclobutrazol @ 1.5 g a.i./plant), P2 (paclobutrazol @ 3.0 g a.i./plant) and P3 (paclobutrazol @ 4.5 g a.i./ plant) and three different dates viz., T1 (15th July), T2 (31st July) and T3 (15th August). Results concluded that application of paclobutrazol @ 4.5 g a.i./plant recorded maximum fruit weight (42.38g), fruit girth (13.59 cm), fruit length (4.22 cm), volume of juice (23.35 mL), maximum TSS (9.17 0Brix), ascorbic acid (31.59 mg/10 mL of juice), reducing sugars (0.837%), non-reducing sugars (0.600%) and total sugars (1.44%).
