INTERPRETATION OF GROUND WATER QUALITY USING CORELATION AND REGRESSION ANALYSIS OF CUTTACK CITY, ODISHA, INDIA

G. SUNPRIYA ACHARY

Abstract

The present study dealt with assessment of physico – chemical and microbiological parameters of ground water of Cuttack city, India. Statistical regression analysis was carried out to study the correlation between various physico – chemical parameters. Comparison of estimated values with W.H.O standards revealed that ground water of study area is more or less safe for drinking purpose. Regression analysis of these data points suggests that conductivity of water is an important parameter and it is significantly correlated with other parameters. Present study may be treated as one step ahead towards the drinking water quality management.
