Abstract

The activity of amylase and cellulase was tested, under the influence of two insecticides, imidacloprid and acephate in laboratory conditions. The activity of amylase and cellulase in terms of glucose released from starch and cellulose was more pronounced at 2.5 Kg ha-1 in black and red soils respectively, where as the activity of amylase was higher in black soil, received the acephate at 5.0 Kg ha-1. But at higher concentrations of 7.5 and 10 kg ha-1 were either stimulatory or innocuous to amylase and cellulase activity.
