Abstract
Field experiments were carried out in skeletal soil of district Dindori (Madhya Pradesh) during kharif 2005 and 2006 to find out the effect of integrated nutrient management on yield and economics of kutki (Panicum sumatrense Roth ex Roem. & Schult) crop. The soil was slightly acidic in nature (pH 6.3), normal in EC (0.11 dS m-1) and poor in organic carbon content (0.39%) and low in available nitrogen (210 kg ha-1), phosphorus (8.4 kg ha-1) and potassium (235 kg ha-1). Inorganic fertilizers (100% NPK) gave higher grain yield (789 kg ha-1) over the control (350 kg ha-1) but it is realized that they are beyond the purchasing power of these resource poor farmers. Azospirillum + PSB was better in grain yield (386 kg ha-1) as compared to Azotobacter +PSB (T4-355 kg ha-1). While FYM alone (T12) gave grain yield 530 kg ha-1. Integration of all the inputs with 50% of inorganic fertilizers proved best and increased the kutki yield (T11-883 kg ha-1) significantly. All treated plots had higher indices of profitability than control. The profitability was maximum 1.94 under T11 (50%NP +100% K+ Azospirillum+ PSB+ FYM).
