Abstract
The research work on life table studies of Spodoptera litura was conducted as field and laboratory experiments, on soybean. The study was conducted in the Department of Entomology, PGI, Dr. PDKV, Akola. The observations were recorded weekly from the appearance of the pest i.e. 30th meteorological week up to the harvest of crop. Life-table for field population and biotic key mortality factors of S. litura were studied on soybean variety JS-335 during kharif 2011-12. Life-tables on soybean illustrate the nature and magnitude of sequential mortality in field population of S. litura. The observations were recorded in field on percent incidence of various stages on Spodoptera litura larvae on Soybean crop. Moreover, observation on biotic mortality factors, causing mortality during rearing of various stages of S. litura were recorded in laboratory.
