Abstract

To sustain soil health and benign environment there is a need for standardization the conjunctive use of organic including biofertilizers and inorganic sources of nutrition in order to increase the productivity and improving the soil health. So, the present investigation was planned and executed at Soil and Water Management Research Unit (SWMRU) Farm, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari during the kharif season of year 2011-12. The experiment was laid out with three replications in split plot design with two main plots of growing conditions i.e. transplanted rice and drilled rice and six levels of sub plot viz., two inorganic treatments of 100% RDF and 75% RDF were applied separately and 75% RDF was applied in combinations with FYM, Biocompost, Vermicompost and Azospirillum applied as sources of 25 per cent of RDN to both transplanted and drilled rice. The results revealed that, supplementation of 75% N through Urea + 25% N through Vermicompost performed significantly superior for growth, yield and quality attributes along with macro and micro nutrient content and uptake in grain and straw with transplanted growing condition of rice.
