Abstract
Field experiments were carried out to manage rust of lentil during Rabi season of 2007-08 and 2008-09. Prophylactic spray of neem oil during 2007-08 resulted minimum disease severity (30.0%) and highest grain yield (603 kg/ha) followed by jatropha oil (32.3% disease severity and 585 kg/ha yield), and mustard oil (32.6% disease severity and 517 kg/ha grain yield). Similarly during 2008-09, again neem oil resulted minimum disease severity (31.3%) and maximum grain yield (504 kg/ha) followed by jatropha oil (33.6% disease severity and 475 kg/ha grain yield) while, mustard oil sprayed plots resulted 35.6% disease severity and 465 kg/ha grain yield during both crop seasons. All the treatments resulted better in respect of disease severity and grain yield in comparison to control plot.
