HIERARCHICAL ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT RATE OF AGRICULTURE AND WATER STANDARDS ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF VILLAGE (CASE STUDY: VILLAGE OF CHENARAN –KHRASAN RAZAVI, IRAN)

Abstract

Agriculture is a critical tool for achieving the Millennium Development Goals, that is reducing fifty percent of population with poverty and hunger by 2015 in the twenty-first century, agriculture will remain to be a fundamental tool for economic development and reduction in village poverty. In developing countries, more than half of the poor live in village and areas. Regardless of where they are, improving and promoting agriculture in order to reach the millennium development goal of reducing poverty and hunger by 50%, by 2015, and consitency in reducing poverty and hunger are necessary for the next several decades. On the other hand, the most important scarce factor in agriculture in the first place, is shortage of water or lack of right water management (Hosseini, 1390). In one sense, proper management of supply, transmission and distribution of water in agriculture is agriculture is a direct factor in the agricultural economy and undoubtedly, a thriving agricultural economy will have the greatest impact on village economic development. Using Analytic Hierarchy Process, this paper attempts to determine the importance of agronomic criteria which are effective in village economic development with emphasis on the 8 villages of Chenaran city in Khorasan Razavi, moreover, TOPSIS method is used in order to prove the the validity.
