Abstract

The experiment was carried out at Research Farm, College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) during Rabi season, 2012-2013. The experimental conducted in Vertisol and laid out in a split plot design with four replications. The samples were collected during crop growing season with a regular development stages of wheat, i.e. tillering, panicle initiation, milky and dough stage with the soil depths of 0-15 and 15-30 cm. The maximum urease activity (μg urea hydrolysed g-1soil h- 1) was recorded 717.54 μg at tillering, 824.04 at panicle initiation, 271.23 at milky and 254.74 in dough stage. Where activity ranged from 384.26 to 515.89 under treatment T1 (Control) and T8 (100% RDF+ FYM), respectively. The significantly higher urease activity (μg urea hydrolysed g-1soil h-1) was recorded 482.97 in surface soil and significantly lower 430.17 in subsurface soil.
