Abstract
Rice is the most widely grown and consumed crop of India and possesses remarkable variations. These variations are maintained by the local germplasm cultivations with their traditional methods of cultivation. In the present study, eleven germplasms were collected from the farmers field residing at different altitudinal gradient of West Siang and Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. Collected germplasms were studied for their specific features viz. duration, test weight, yield, grain colour, grain shape and routine uses. Among all the parameters, Bali white, Bamtare and Pumik were found to be the best germplasms in maturity with regards to yield and uses.
